Iโ€™m Alex, and I live and work in Brooklyn. My stories, essays, and reviews have appeared in Granta, The New York Times Book Review, The Point, The Baffler, and Jewish Currents. Iโ€™ve received grants and fellowships from Lighthouse Works, MacDowell, The Center for Fiction, and Spruceton Innโ€™s Artist Residency.

My first novel, Worry, was named one of the best books of 2024 by The New Yorker, Vogue, the BBC, The Washington Post, NPR, and more; itโ€™s now available in paperback wherever books are sold.

Together with Lesley Arfin, Iโ€™m the co-creator and writer of Worried, a television adaptation of the novel directed by Nicole Holofcener thatโ€™ll make its world premiere in the episodic program at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
